I was
admitted to the California State Bar in February 1961. I am a graduate
of the University of Michigan and U.C.L.A School of Law. I practiced
law, first with Hagenbaugh Murphy & Davies from 1961 to the summer of
1970 and was engaged in an exclusively trial practice in many areas of insurance
defense. Thereafter, in 1970 I joined Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman
in Beverly Hills, and became a partner in 1971. My practice there
was exclusively litigation and trials from 1970 to 1986. The practice
embraced commercial litigation, copyright, trademark, contracts, securities,
construction, contested take-overs, and litigation in the entertainment
industry. I am currently, and have been for a number of years, a member
of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a Fellow of the International
Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a Fellow of the American College of Trial
Lawyers. I am a member of the State Bar and the American Bar Association.
I was appointed to the Federal Bench in June 1986 and served on the U.S.
District Court, Central District of California until July 1998. I
was an active settlement Judge while on the Court, and mediated the settlement
of many diverse and complex cases. My mediation practice has continued
in the same vein. I have mediated cases in the following areas:
securities, copyright, trademark, patents, employment, real estate, general
business litigation, insurance coverage and other disputes between and with
insurance carriers, professional liability and other torts. I am a
member of the Advisory Board of The National Patent Board. |
