CAROL J. MEDOF,
ESQ. 18075 Ventura Boulevard, Suite 105 I have been a practicing attorney since 1979 in the fields of civil litigation, transactional law, conflict resolution and mediation advocacy. Since 2000, my law practice is devoted exclusively to conflict resolution including mediation, arbitration, facilitation and training. I am privileged to serve on various ADR panels and handle more than 150 cases per year in a wide variety of fields including employment, professional liability, real estate and construction, personal injury, medical and legal malpractice, insurance bad faith, construction defect and estate matters. My focus in mediation is service to the parties and to their attorneys. My function is to serve their needs to the best of my ability and to give them the value that they deserve in the conflict resolution process. I am a professional mediator skilled at resolving the toughest disputes, especially in complex litigation with multiple parties. My expertise is in achieving settlement and resolving disputes. I am relentlessly determined and unshakably persistent. I am a professional negotiator with a goal to empower the parties to reach a fair and businesslike settlement for everyone involved. I handle each case in a strategic manner beginning mediation with a private session with each side. In most cases, a joint session follows. This enables the parties to explore all relevant issues, many of which are not addressed in litigation and some of which may not be apparent to the parties themselves. In cases where legal issues predominate, I take a directive and evaluative approach. In cases where personal issues are at the forefront, I use a transformational or facilitative approach. In all cases, my goal is service and my method is active compassionate listening with detachment. In all cases, my goal is to give the parties the opportunity to fully explain their case and their reasons for their individual positions and to formulate a settlement that is beneficial to all. As member of Southern California Mediation Association and a board member of Association for Conflict Resolution, I volunteer my time to help promote the field of alternative conflict resolution and to educate the public and the professional community. I perform extensive volunteer work in the field of mediation promoting peer mediation, restorative justice, community facilitation, public education and diversity and management training. In addition, I volunteer as a Temporary Judge in Los Angeles Superior Court and as a Docent for the J. Paul Getty Museum. My practice is limited to serving as a neutral in mediations, arbitrations, and other ADR processes EMPLOYMENT & EXPERIENCE
