Jeff Kichaven

  
Jeff Kichaven is one of California's leading mediators of litigated disputes.  Kichaven is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and an adjunct professorat Pepperdine University School of Law.  He spent 15 years in complex litigation as an associate and partner in Los Angeles' Alschuler, Grossman & Pines before he began his ADR practice in 1995.

Kichaven now devotes his practice exclusively to mediation, with a caseload in excess of 150 matters per year.  He has extensive expertise in Employment (termination, harassment, discrimination), Real Estate (construction defect, commercial leases, partnerships, broker commissions), Intellectual Property (internet, information technology, copyright and trademark), Probate (trusts, estates and conservatorships), Insurance (bad faith, coverage) and general business contract disputes.

 Nationally, Kichaven serves on the Governing Council of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution.  In California, he is a Member of the ADR Committee of the State Bar of California and is also Past Chair of the ADR Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

 He is a frequent writer and speaker on ADR and Civil Litigation topics, and is an editor of the monthly "Q&ADR" column in the Verdicts & Settlements Section of the Los Angeles Daily Journal.  His 1996 article, "Mediation is Not for Sissies," is one of the most frequently republished articles in the field.
